Small Visitor
.

One evening in mid June we discovered this small frog on the sliding glass door to the basement.
He seemed quite content to sit there for his portrait.
He is a Cope's Gray Tree Frog. (Hyla chrysoscelis) They are found throughout most of Kentucky.

Because the pictures were taken through the glass you can see his toe pads that let him climb on smooth surfaces.
There are some of the bugs that he was trying to capture visible in the left picture.
The dust on the window is emphasized by the camera flash.
We will need to invite him back when the window is clean.
You can hear his call along with several of his comrades  by clicking here.
